Adjusted EBITDA reflects the impact of cash spent for pre-publication investment. Pre-publication investment costs, reflecting the cost of developing education content, are capitalized and amortized. These costs are capitalized when the title is expected to generate probable future economic benefits and are amortized upon publication of the title over its estimated useful life of up to six years.
